We are hiring for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our SI Offshore engineering team who will be leading, and coordinating commissioning activities across various HVDC infrastructure projects being delivered under the ASTI framework.

Job Purpose

As Commissioning Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across commissioning activities for major HVDC infrastructure projects, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of operationally ready assets.

You will act as a commissioning subject matter expert, shaping commissioning strategy, processes and best practice across a growing portfolio of projects. Working closely with joint venture partners, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will drive consistency, excellence and continuous improvement throughout the commissioning lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Act as the subject matter expert for commissioning management, promoting and maintaining high standards across the project portfolio.
• Develop and implement commissioning strategies and processes that support successful project delivery.
• Ensure delivery risks across ASTI projects are minimised by identifying and managing inter-project dependencies and commissioning sequences.
• Proactively manage risks that may impact project deliverability or emerge during commissioning activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve commissioning processes and implement initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Inspire, influence and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve outstanding project outcomes.
• Take accountability for commissioning-related business risks, including safety, quality, cost and schedule performance.
• Support the development of commissioning plans, including timelines, resource requirements and testing procedures.
• Ensure commissioning teams are appropriately resourced, including access to specialist expertise where required.
• Chair Commissioning Working Party and Commissioning Panel meetings as required.
• Build strong relationships with project managers, contractors, suppliers and clients, providing regular updates to senior leaders and executives.
• Ensure commissioning activities and final assets meet all project requirements, technical standards and regulatory obligations.
• Conduct regular audits and assurance activities to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
• Maintain comprehensive commissioning records and audit trails, including non-conformances, corrective actions and post-assurance design changes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership capability and a passion for delivering complex infrastructure projects safely and efficiently.

You'll have:

• Proven experience in commissioning or management of the commissioning of HVDC, FACTS and/or cable infrastructure projects.
• Significant and demonstrable technical experience within your area of specialism, with a proven ability to balance safety, quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• A strong understanding of high-voltage electricity construction and the management of safety associated with HV system changes.
• An engineering qualification (HNC, HND or Degree) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH, CSCS, SMSTS, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience leading, supervising and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including both internal employees and external contractors.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
• Strong problem-solving, risk management and decision-making capabilities within complex project environments.

A competitive salary up to £81,000 per annum based on experience. This role comes with a job requirement car.

As well as your base salary, a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
