About The Role

 

 

Brand New Role – Birmingham Hybrid – Permanent – Full Time

The Great Grid Partnership (GGP) is moving from a project-by-project model to a programmatic delivery approach. We aim to improve consistency, coordination and management of interfaces and interdependencies across and between projects. This approach takes advantage of joint project requirements to deliver in a more efficient, cost effective and timely manner. 

The GGP Integrator is a key part of the delivery model, enabling Partners to set up and deliver their integrated packages of work to the required quality and control. Headline projects include Norwich to Tilbury and others. 

The GGP Commercial Manager plays a pivotal role in driving value across the Great Grid Partnership by providing sound commercial expertise at project and programmatic level, building and leveraging relationships across the ecosystem’s commercial community, identifying and implementing continuous improvements in how we work.

 

This role is hybrid based with our team typically gathering once or twice per week at our central Birmingham office. We continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.

About You

  • Excellent understanding of contract (NEC essential) and procurement
  • Experience in collaborating and influencing at all levels; able to constructively challenge and hold internal and external stakeholders to account.
  • Ability to identify and implement improvements opportunities

 

Additionally candidates should have:

 

  • Awareness of the laws and regulations related to the UK energy sector and / or regulated environment.
  • An ability to adapt quickly in response to changing priorities and different audiences.
  • A track record in managing a broad and multi-faceted workload; balancing  attention to detail with big picture thinking.
  • A proactive mindset, able to take initiative and anticipate needs and requirements.
  • Programmatic thinking to span and synergise across UK wide projects

What You'll Do

 

 

Commercial expertise

 

  • Implement the commercial framework to support the Enterprise objectives and priorities, closely working with supply chain partners to deliver the projects on time and to cost
  • Ability to identify risk and opportunities to leverage programmatic approach to delivering value
  • Having evidenced robust commercial experience and the ability to solve problems in complex environments, become the go-to commercial advisor projects, partners and Client engage with to enable the Enterprise to move forward
  • Champion transparency in commercial decision making across Client and Partners.

 

Stakeholder and relationship management

 

  • Build, nurture, and maintain relationships with stakeholders, particularly supply chain partners, to foster 

 

Support capability build

  • Provide support and guidance to foster a collaborative and high performing culture
  • Support and influence a range of different stakeholders including the GGP partners, the commercial, procurement, project delivery and legal teams.  
  • You hold yourself and others to account for what you are expected to deliver.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Continuous Improvement 

 

  • Identify opportunities to improve our processes and remove inefficiencies
  • Able to document and implement improvements through procedures and drive adoption through appropriate change management approach

What You'll Get

 

 

A competitive salary starting between £78,000 - £82,000 – dependent on capability.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
