We are recruiting for an Associate Project Manager to join our central engineering team. In this role, you will support the Marine Project Manager in managing ongoing crossings activities and technical work packages on behalf of the marine operations function. You will also play a key role in coordinating engagement with third-party asset owners and supporting wider project delivery.
This role offers hybrid working, with travel to Glasgow and Edinburgh required. We’re happy to discuss flexible working arrangements to help make this role work for you.
What You’ll Do
- Manage databases of crossed assets and crossings across multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely updates.
- Use tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI to track, report, and support delivery of the crossings portfolio.
- Coordinate and attend meetings with third-party asset owners (both in-person and virtually), tracking progress towards securing crossing agreements.
- Administer framework services contracts, supporting the process of scoping, placing, and managing contracts under the direction of the Marine Project Manager.
- Ensure National Grid standards and processes are adhered to in relation to third-party crossing agreements.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and external stakeholders, tracking proposals and progress of crossing procedures.
- Support additional project activities such as Development of Operations & Maintenance strategies, engagement with potential suppliers, collaboration with commercial and procurement teams and progress tracking across key deliverables
About you
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel; experience with data management, reporting, and tracking.
- Experience with project management or planning tools is desirable.
- Basic project management knowledge, with an interest in progressing along the APM (Association for Project Management) pathway, is advantageous.
- Some knowledge or experience of contracts, legal terms, or commercial principles would be beneficial but not essential.
- An understanding of the subsea or marine industry is desirable but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
What you’ll get
A competitive salary of £47,000 – £55,000, depending on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
