Associate EPC Project Manager
About the role
You’ll be working on some of the biggest, most exciting projects in green energy - Projects that enable us to deliver key milestones in our collective Net Zero ambitions, such as the delivery of 50GW of offshore wind by 2030.

Within the role of Associate EPC Project Manager, you will be asked to develop, sanction, deliver and close a number of connection investments to time, cost and specification in accordance with the Network Development Process. Ensuring health, safety and environmental issues are managed throughout the process and that projects deliver the business’ regulatory, stakeholder and customer commitments.

- Technical knowledge of the Electricity Transmission System
- Knowledge of business processes and governance
- Understanding of RIIO mechanisms
- Knowledge of CDM
- Understanding and experience of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policie
- Contract Management Experience.
What you'll do
- Lead the investment process during pre-construction, delivery and closure for less complex projects or support EPC Project Managers to develop and deliver more complex projects.
- Driving customer and stakeholder satisfaction through positive customer engagement and working pro
- Actively to resolve issues in a timely manner, recording engagement in CRM.
- Responsible for various trigger points in respect of the Quality of Connections Incentive, which will generate customer feedback. Once received, taking direct ownership for acting on that feedback.
- Supporting CAMs with the provision of information required to ensure customer offers are made in a timely manner to comply with the SO/TO Code requirements.
- Develop, sanction and deliver the least cost, optimal, efficient and safe solution in line with CDM Regulations and SHESQ considerations.
- Undertake the required site and condition assessments, and support the consenting, type registration, cost estimation, programme risk mitigation and innovation activities to enable the delivery vehicle to implement the solution on site.
- Produce all required project documentation, ensuring governance is maintained throughout the investment process whilst also demonstrating the implementation of lessons learned and best practice.
- Develop, implement, and manage project delivery, design, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure and post-completion requirements.
- Act as the NEC Project Manager (or equivalent for other contract types) where required.
- Establish most efficient contracting strategy for the project, ensuring production of competent Site and Works Information and that tendering process completed in timescales required for successful project delivery.
- Monitor and control the investment throughout the process providing regular project monthly status reports including: SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management and competent, accurate and timely financial forecasting information to support regulatory reporting, and business and capital planning.
- Enact the role of Client's Delegated Representative and where appropriate, Principle Designer or arrange for the provision of Principle Designer for each project as required under CDM Regulations
- Perform the role of CDM-coordinator or arrange for the provision of a CDMC for each project as required
- Manage and co-ordinate Contractors and project teams to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and specification and with minimal disruption.
- Working towards enacting the role of Commissioning Panel Chair.
- Monitor Contractor site activities to ensure compliance with National Grid SHES standards, Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and CDM regulations
- Manage the Contractor commissioning and performance testing process on site. Ensure the provision of accurate ‘as built’ documentation to handover of the assets onto the system to the standards defined in the design.
- Manage standard and routine third party issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations and Community Stakeholders to preserve National Grid reputation
- Actively develop self to achieve and maintain relevant authorisations for role.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £47,000 -£54,000 dependent on capability.
