National Grid is hiring a Programme Specialist within ED (Electricity Distribution) to oversee the successful implementation of apprenticeship programs within the organisation.
Within this role you will ensure apprentices progress effectively, maintain compliance with standards, and provide necessary support to apprentices throughout their program journey.
This role is a hybrid role with our base office being in Tipton, you can enjoy working from office and home.
Please note you must be able to drive and hold a full UK driving licence for this role
What you'll do
- Ensure strict adherence to apprenticeship standards, policies, and regulatory requirements to maintain program compliance.
- Provide effective line management and supervision of Development Team Reviewers, overseeing learner review processes, and ensuring compliance.
- Manage and maintain the Learner Management System (LMS) for apprenticeship participants.
- Review audit/sampling findings associated to apprentice portfolios and progress reviews to drive quality improvement and to ensure accuracy and adherence to program requirements.
- Evaluate monthly Reviewer performance to establish development needs, share best practice and promote compliance expectations.
- Track and monitor learner progress to identify key risk indicators and implement measures to minimise impact on workforce planning objectives.Plan and facilitate meetings with a range of various stakeholders within the business to enhance the guidance and support available to apprenticeship participants.
- Coordinate End-Point Assessment (EPA) registrations through the ACE360 platform, including evidencing maths/English qualifications (where suitable).
- Ensure apprentices are adequately prepared for End Point Assessment by providing guidance, processes, and support materials.
- Coordinate and chair review meetings to establish suitable next steps / action points following unsuccessful End Point Assessment (EPA) outcomes.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Craft programme handbook, ensuring clarity and consistency in program delivery.
- Lead apprentice briefings to deliver key messages and updates associated to the craft programme expectations.
- Manage and provide leadership to the Development Team Reviewers, ensuring effective performance and adherence to organisational goals.
- Act as the main point of escalation for Development Reviews apprentice learning requirements, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Follow internal ways of working/processes to adhere to business, funding and compliance requirements.
- Allocate appropriate resource to plan and deliver inductions for annual apprentice intakes
What you'll need
- Proven experience in managing apprenticeship programmes, preferably in the utility or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of apprenticeship standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Effective team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of apprenticeship standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Robust digital skills and IT literacy, inclusive of basic Microsoft Office applications and remote meeting platforms.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to promoting the success and well-being of apprentices.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £48,374 – £52,000 dependent on capability.
