Job Purpose

In this impactful leadership role, you will oversee and coordinate a team responsible for critical support activities that help power safe, reliable electric service across Upstate New York. Working at the intersection of operations, strategy, and customer service, you will guide daily work priorities, optimize resources, and foster strong collaboration across Electric Operations, internal business partners, and external stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to influence operational excellence, strengthen customer relationships, and play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential energy services to the communities we serve.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assign, plan, schedule, coordinate and audit the daily activities of the Work Support personnel.
  • Supervise and review the completion of all mandated forms, reports and Company required documentation to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and internal departments.
  • Monitor work backlog to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Review/ approve time entry.
  • Oversee the process of managing some requirements and other associated activities that support the Electric Operations Organization.
  • Support and help drive the standardization of processes and approaches across Electric Services operational activities.
  • Drive performance of the Work Support group through the utilization of metrics. Set expectations of continuous improvement and capture benefits of those improvements.
  • Assist and support the completion of emergency/confirming work and ensure the proper closing and updating in systems in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and monitor support activities during storm emergencies.
  • Create and foster a safe and inclusive working environment. 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration or related fields and/or equivalent supervisory work experience required.
  • 3-5 years qualifying experience (supervisor, project management, team lead, etc.) or equivalent preferred.
  • Planning skills including the ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Proficient software skills e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, safety codes and labor agreements.
  • Judgement and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Forward thinker with innovative ideas.
  • Ability to track data, data analysis and report on metrics.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate performance excellence.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in clerical support, scheduling, operations, work coordination, and distribution design a plus preferred.
  • Knowledge of local labor agreements.
  • Ability to travel as required to various locations throughout New York is required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

More Information

Salary: $71,000 - $100,000 per year
