Job Purpose
The Construction Planner will strategically plan out the yearly portfolio of contracted matting/access work to deliver goals of savings and diversification in the category.
Key Accountabilities
- Assign work strategically to the vendors within the category contract.
- Ensure all contract requirements are satisfied prior to authorizing construction work.
- Facilitate weekly coordination/scheduling meetings with vendors and all stakeholders to drive execution of the workplan.
- Monitor projects through construction for progress.
- Continuously identify and help mitigate risk in each contractor’s yearly schedules.
- Collaborate with stakeholder groups to deliver the most effective construction plan – construction, operations, environmental, project/program management, contract management, procurement, etc.
- Manage systems for assignment, construction progress, and closeout.
- Identify and help solution issues in the work assignment and management process.
- Report monthly on various topics to stakeholders including resource levels and forecasted workloads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, environmental, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in work planning and coordination, project management, construction management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the matting industry or electric line construction industry.
- Capable of flexibility and managing multiple requirements and objectives at one time.
- Capable of working proactively and positively with a multitude of personalities.
- Open to minor travel within National Grid Upstate territory.
- Open minded, willingness to find better ways and improvements, and respectful of working in a regulated environment.
- Software savvy - Experience with Procore, SmartSheets, ERPs, or scheduling software a plus.

Salary: $88,000.00 - $103,000.00 USD#LI-DL1
