Job Purpose
The Lead Data Analyst will primarily be responsible for providing support to the Electric Capital Portfolio through the development of strategic initiatives and coordinating with stakeholders to execute annual plans as well as actively managing and reporting against the plan.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute and support the NY Electric Capital Portfolio plan and monthly calibration processes.
- Assist with regulatory and financial reporting, including QRF submissions, variance reporting, annual business planning, and CIP filings.
- Ensure data accuracy across various systems such as Powerplan, STORMS, Future Now, and SAP by collaborating with stakeholders.
- Partner with Project Management, Program Management, Project Development, and Transmission and Distribution Asset Management to align project forecasts with budgetary targets.
- Develop and support department KPIs that align with strategic priorities to enhance performance tracking.
- Analyze data to identify operational trends and improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate information sharing and learning within Work Development and Resource Management.
- Provide analytic reporting and process development for internal strategic improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between current processes and reporting/system capabilities.
- Coach and upskill analysts in tool design and development.
- Implement processes and products for annual planning and ongoing portfolio management.
- Conduct financial and resource reporting, including ad hoc requests for variance analysis and CAPEX/OPEX savings initiatives.
- Perform administrative tasks to support Future-Now and capital planning initiatives.
- Train and develop new team members on processes, products, and legacy systems.
Qualifications
- Over 7 years of experience in financial reporting or equivalent relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Familiarity with SAP, Powerplan, STORMS, Primavera, and Business Intelligence Reporting.
- Proficient in Excel; Power BI skills are a plus.
- Strong ability to prioritize work and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Effective communicator, able to articulate decisions and their rationale to affected parties.
- Capable of providing guidance and managing responsibilities at a senior management level.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and make independent decisions confidently.
- Understanding of electric business operations or a strong desire to learn.
- Skilled in interpreting information and analyzing complex problems to articulate findings and anticipate obstacles.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Knowledgeable about policies and processes, with the ability to challenge and improve existing practices.
- Experience in successfully delivering complex projects and possessing team leadership skills.
- Strong influencing and negotiating abilities.
- High level of personal initiative and ability to collaborate positively with company personnel, contractors, regulatory representatives, and officials.
- Knowledge of power system operations, electrical and civil engineering, environmental engineering economics, and utility accounting regulations.
- Ability to manage projects under budget and time constraints, with a focus on metrics and continuous improvement.
- Strong skills in negotiations, presentations, construction management, interpersonal and written communication, and critical analysis.
- High personal standards of commitment and integrity.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Salary: $108,000.00 - $127,000.00 USD
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
