Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.
About the Position
Are you ready to dive into the world of community and customer management in the energy sector? As an Associate Analyst on the Community and Customer Management Team, you’ll help manage a portfolio of Wholesale Generation Customers in New York State. Your role will involve building and maintaining day-to-day relationships with our customers, ensuring superior satisfaction, compliance with contracts and tariffs, and enhancing National Grid’s corporate reputation. You’ll be working with interconnected utilities, municipal power systems, and wholesale generators, as well as new developers of large-scale renewable generation projects like wind, solar, and storage. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into the Transmission business and the challenges we face in the industry!
This is a hybrid role based in Syracuse, NY.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll support the team with day-to-day customer work and special projects. Here’s what you’ll be up to:
- Customer Support: Assist with managing day-to-day relationships with our wholesale customers, ensuring they have a top-notch experience.
- Contract Management: Help account managers with contractual relationships and ensure compliance with all agreements.
- Project Support: Support the development of new or changing transmission interconnection projects, including large-scale wind and solar generation, battery storage, and transmission upgrades.
- Industry Research: Perform targeted industry research to support management needs and keep our strategies aligned with market trends.
- Performance Metrics: Assist in analyzing and evolving customer-focused performance metrics, reporting, and initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelors or Master's degree from an accredited institution preferably in business, economics, finance, marketing, environmental studies, or a related field.
- Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026
- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 8, 2026, or July 13, 2026
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range
Syracuse, NY $59,000 - $70,000 a year
You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Our hybrid working approach applies to all colleagues who have a role which has the flexibility to be done hybrid across the National Grid group. Operational requirements mean that not all roles are suitable for hybrid working. Managers are responsible for determining whether a role is conducive to hybrid working. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
