Job Purpose
This role provides analytical expertise and support across the NY jurisdiction by contributing to the development of compliance and regulatory data analysis and strategies for rate case filings, cost of service modeling, and other regulatory proceedings, along with analyses and proposals for National Grid’s operations in New York.
Key Accountabilities
Technical Expertise
- Under guidance of the Senior/Lead/Principal- prepare sections of rate case filings, testimony exhibits, and compliance reports.
- Analyze regulatory and financial data using Excel, BI/HANA, SAP, and other tools to support cost recovery strategies.
- Monitor financial data for accuracy and develop dashboards/models to track regulatory metrics.
- Strong understanding of regulation, unit costing, and financial analysis tools and techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems; experience with SAP or similar platforms preferred.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Draft and coordinate responses to regulatory discovery requests across business functions.
- Participate in regulatory working groups and support regulatory leads in preparing materials and responses in rate case filings.
- Serve as a point of contact for field and customer-facing teams regarding interpretation and application of commission orders regarding revenue requirement matters.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations, and IT to align regulatory filings with business operations.
Regulatory Strategy
- Conduct research on state and federal regulatory policies, summarizing findings for internal use.
- Support the development of cost recovery strategy proposals for rate cases and other regulatory proceedings.
- Monitor regulatory trends and precedents to inform strategy and ensure compliance.
- Contribute to procedural improvements and promote best practices across the team.
- Advocate company interests and contribute to strategic regulatory filings and compliance efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, engineering, or related field; up to 5 years of relevant experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Familiarity with utility operations, industry practices, legislation, and National Grid policies.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data management systems; experience with SAP or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex data and communicate effectively across all levels.
- Able to manage multiple priorities independently, influence stakeholders, and contribute in and to a team environment.

Salary: $69,000 - $81,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
