Job Purpose
As an Analyst in Meter Data Services (MDS), the role will be accountable for the collection of electric and gas meter information, accurate and timely delivery of this information to downstream systems and users (billing, settlement, energy efficiency, energy suppliers, account executives, CMS, Meter Engineering, AMO, the AMI team, etc.). This critical role will be responsible for identifying customer meter collection issues and subsequently prioritizing corrective action with field operations in all jurisdictions. The position will need to support regulatory requests, SOX and audit inquiries as well as other ad hoc requests asked of MDS from outside teams.
Key Accountabilities
· Tracking and validating daily job execution to maintain integrity of billing file outputs.
· Coordinating communication with field personnel and customer organizations in the event of missed routes.
· Accurately and consistently execute MDS collection processes to meet daily & monthly deliverables
· Support Electric Ops either directly or indirectly per your role within MDS
· Backup for EPO (Energy Profile Online)
· Analyze daily collection results, identify meter collection issues, coordinate with field operations and billing organization to resolve issues.
· Coordinate with the field operations organization in supporting meter exchanges and troubleshooting at the field site.
· Support SOX & Internal Audit requests and deliverables
· Support process improvement activities providing creative process improvement ideas, support team hub activities and PEX activities to drive continuous improvements.
· Cultivate successful working relationships with colleagues to ensure consistent operational performance for key stakeholders (Customer Meter Services, Electric & Gas Meter Shops, Accounts Maintenance, Billing and Systems, Supplier Services, Regulatory and Pricing and Information Technology).
· Interface with key stakeholders to provide process and analytical support to help deliver on regulatory mandates, process improvements and Key Performance Indicators.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in the energy industry preferred
- Experience with SQL and/or Power BI is a plus
- Experience with National Grid Customer Billing Systems (CSS) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook required
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and expand technical knowledge
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret meter collection data accurately and in a timely manner
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and meet established deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to start work at 7:00 a.m.
