National Grid is hiring an Analyst, for our Syracuse, NY office. This is a Hybrid Role with two days in the office per week. Wednesday and Thursday.
Job Purpose
Responsible for the complex invoice process and meeting performance metrics. Will prioritize work to meet expectations and deliver results in line with customer and business objectives. Key contacts will include internal stakeholders including job owners, managers and other members of Centralized Services. There may also be direct external customer interactions.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute complex billing instructions and requests accurately, timely and efficiently. Will be responsible for tracking and meeting performance goals.
- Provide guidance and direction to lower-level analysts to improve billing accuracy and assist in decision making.
- Responsible for applicable Sarbanes Oxley and operational controls within assigned bill type.
- Identify, address and resolve complex billing issues. Be able to analyze themes and trends from a range of sources and systems to identify opportunities to integrate improvements across billing to minimize future billing issues.
- Develop a working understanding of the applicable regulations we operate under (example tariffs) to assist our internal customer in delivering services.
- Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid.
- Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related area preferred and/or a minimum of 2-3 years of progressive growth in business support roles.
- Excellent Microsoft Office suite and other technical skills required including Excel VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of SAP-GUI and HANA-BI preferred.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to both internal and external customers.
- Familiarity with electric and gas utility accounting and finance requirements; knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation, including developments in regulation.
- Experience in utility service billing, business activities and systems (SAP, CSS, CRS) preferred.
- Basic understanding of Relational Database Management Systems and related data management concepts preferred.

Salary
$68,000 - $80,000 a year
