About the role

 

Nemo Link is a 50:50 joint venture between National Grid and Elia, operating a critical interconnector between the UK and Belgium. As part of the Operations Leadership Team, you’ll play a key role in maintaining high levels of reliability and availability, ensuring the interconnector continues to deliver strong operational and commercial performance. 

 

We’re looking for a Operations Site Manager to lead the safe and efficient operation of the Nemo Link converter station at Richborough.


This role combines technical leadership, operational excellence and people leadership, working closely with UK and Belgian teams to deliver safe, compliant and high-performing operations.

 

Please note as this is a site based role you must live within an hours commute from our site in Sandwich, Richborough.

What you'll do

 

  • Lead safe and compliant operations
    Ensure day-to-day operations, maintenance, incident response and risk management are delivered safely and in line with SHE expectations, licences, codes and operational procedures.
  • Maximise asset availability and performance
    Drive high reliability through effective planning, outage management, maintenance strategies and strong operational decision-making.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing site team
    Build, lead and develop a capable operational team while managing contractor interfaces and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across Nemo Link, National Grid and wider partners.
  • Deliver operational excellence across a 24/7 site
    Oversee maintenance, emergency response, and operational delivery to ensure optimal performance of the converter station and associated assets.
  • Manage risk, compliance and stakeholder relationships
    Ensure adherence to regulatory and operational requirements while maintaining effective relationships with internal teams, partners and external stakeholders. 

What you'll need

 

  • Proven experience operating within a high-voltage or critical infrastructure environment
  • Strong track record of delivering safe, compliant and reliable operations
  • Experience maximising asset availability and long-term performance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing operational teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across complex organisational interfaces
  • Ability to make effective decisions in high-pressure operational environments

What you'll get

 

A competitive salary between £64,000 - £80,000 per annum – dependent on capability.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
