About the role
As an Infrastructure, ITSM and Vendor Lead at Grain LNG, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the company’s IT infrastructure supporting LNG operations. Your responsibilities include implementing robust cybersecurity measures to protect systems, data, and networks from evolving threats. This position aligns IT strategies with LNG business objectives, enabling seamless communication, data transfer, and system reliability across critical commercial and corporate functions. In a rapidly evolving energy sector, you will address challenges such as cyber threats, network scalability, and emerging technologies to keep Grain LNG at the forefront of innovation. Key stakeholders include IT teams, senior management, external vendors, and Managed Service Provider (MSP). Success is measured by uptime metrics, network performance, adherence to security protocols, and successful project delivery.
The role is based on site at our site at the Isle of Grain and due to the location please note you must need to drive and have a full UK licence.
What you'll do
- Network Management: Maintain and optimize IT network infrastructure supporting LNG business systems, ensuring performance and security.
- Cybersecurity Strategy & Governance: Enforce security policies and compliance standards relevant to LNG industry regulations and best practices.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to mitigate risks
- Security Awareness: Deliver training programs to enhance cybersecurity awareness among IT and infrastructure teams.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop IT network and security professionals, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal LNG business units and external partners to align IT services with operational needs.
- MSP and Vendor Management: Oversee Managed Service Providers and vendors, ensuring SLA compliance and service delivery aligned with LNG business objectives.
- Ensure MSP meets SLAs, resolves helpdesk tickets, and delivers required services for network and security.
- License and Contract Management: Administer licenses and vendor contracts to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and track KPIs for IT network and security services to drive continuous improvement.
- Budget Management: Manage IT infrastructure and cybersecurity budgets efficiently.
- Project Planning and Execution: Deliver IT infrastructure and security projects on time and within scope.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Resolve IT network and security issues promptly to maintain LNG business continuity
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT support, cybersecurity teams, and MSP to align strategies with LNG business goals.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to build a high-performing IT team.
- Process Improvement and Innovation: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance IT performance and security.
- Customer-Facing Responsibilities: Support LNG stakeholders with IT-related queries and ensure satisfaction through robust solutions.
What you'll need
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Certifications like CCNP, CCIE preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years managing IT network infrastructures and cybersecurity in complex environments, with proven MSP/vendor management experience.
- Certifications: Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, ITIL, or PMP.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in network technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto), cybersecurity tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS), and monitoring solutions.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, adaptability, leadership, and collaboration.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of LNG industry compliance standards and IT best practices.
- Full UK Driving Licence
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £49,000 - £56,000 – dependent on capability.
