About the role
Grain LNG is Europe’s largest Liquefied natural gas (LNG) importation terminal, capable of supplying 25% of the UK gas demand – and is set to play a continuing vital role in the transition to a cleaner energy future.
As a Commercial Advisor you will support Grain LNG’s strategic growth initiatives by identifying, analysing, and developing new business opportunities across key sectors. This role will focus on advancing business development projects, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and supporting the diversification of Grain LNG’s service offerings to align with the company’s strategic goals, including its net-zero transition.
The successful candidate will act as a key enabler in driving the success of business development initiatives, ensuring they are well-coordinated, data-driven, and aligned with market and regulatory dynamics.
This role is based from our world-class facility in Kent, and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home.
What you'll do
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and potential growth opportunities in LNG, carbon, hydrogen, and power sectors.
- Develop detailed business cases and financial models to assess the feasibility and profitability of new opportunities.
- Support horizon scanning for regulatory and market changes that may impact business development initiatives.
- Manage the lifecycle of business development projects, ensuring timely execution of deliverables and alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain project plans, including risk and issue logs, actions, and progress reports.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and alignment.
- Foster relationships with potential partners, customers, and industry stakeholders to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Prepare presentations and proposals for senior management and external stakeholders to communicate project progress and opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of strategies to expand Grain LNG’s service offerings, including areas like hydrogen, carbon capture, and renewable energy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and launch new products or services that align with market needs and customer expectations.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of business development initiatives, providing regular updates and insights to senior management.
- Support the creation of dashboards and reports to enable data-driven decision-making.
What you'll need
- Proven experience in business development, commercial analysis, or project management, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sector.
- Familiarity with LNG, renewable energy, or hydrogen markets is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project management tools is advantageous.
- Self-starter with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs.
What you'll get
A competitive salary of £48,000 - £57,000 per annum - dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
