This is a hybrid working role with circa 2 days in the office.

Job Purpose

We’re looking for 7x Optel and Metering Engineers to join our Optel Operations Team! As an Optel and Metering Engineer you will join the team responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of our Operational telecommunications network, a critical national infrastructure that ensures the connectivity across our substations and control centres.
What you'll do
- Supporting installation of new generation telecommunication equipment in line with business growth and digital communications data demands
- Investigating and rectifying faults on all aspects of the telecommunications network
- Providing comprehensive support for Tariff Metering, Operational Metering, telephony and other light current equipment.
- Performing Settlement Metering calibration, replacement, and audits as a Meter Operator Agent (MOA1), ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Participating in the standby rota for fault response to ensure operational excellence 24/7, 365 days a year on all our telecommunications assets
About you
- A minimum qualification NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
- Previous Telecoms experience and technical knowledge of telecommunications equipment including digital protocols such as DWDM, MPLS
- Holder of a full UK driving licence
- Knowledge and experience working with IT infrastructure- WAN/LAN
- Effective planning, communication and supervisory skills to lead a working party to efficiently deliver work to challenging timescales
- Demonstrated self-drive and innovation when approaching common work-related problems
- Ability and flexibility to work within remote teams
What you'll get
Salary range between £48,000 - £55,000 dependent on experience.
