OHL Business Risk Analyst (1 Year FTC)
We’re looking for a passionate OHL Business Risk Analyst (1 Year FTC) to join our Asset Operations Team!
The OHL Business Operations Risk Analyst is responsible for proactively supporting the effective management of OHL operational business risks by assessing, challenging, and enhancing the control environment. The role delivers advanced analytical insight, guidance, and subject‑matter expertise to strengthen risk maturity and enable the successful delivery of strategic objectives. In addition, the OHL Business Operations Risk Analyst works closely with, and provides direct support to, the Risk Champion to ensure aligned risk oversight, high‑quality reporting, and coordinated engagement across directorates.
This role is peripatetic, and we encourage a hybrid working approach, although we’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
- Support the OHL Risk Champion and Critical controls group in delivering the enterprise risk agenda, including risk identification, assessment, prioritisation, and treatment planning across all business areas.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the OHL risk landscape, ensuring risks are accurately captured, consistently evaluated, and regularly reviewed.
- Maintain the OHL risk and critical controls register, ensuring quality, completeness, and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Deliver high-quality risk reporting and insights, translating complex risk information into clear, actionable intelligence for Senior Leadership teams.
- Conduct deep-dive reviews of priority and emerging risks, assessing control effectiveness, mitigation adequacy, and areas requiring escalation or intervention.
- Provide expert guidance to control owners, ensuring the design and operation of controls effectively support the management of business risks.
- Partner with the Assurance team to ensure strong inputs into assurance planning, including risk-based prioritisation and control mapping.
- Drive continuous improvement in risk processes, frameworks, and tools to strengthen risk culture and enhance efficiency and consistency across the business.
- Facilitate horizon scanning to identify emerging threats and opportunities, ensuring appropriate assessment, forward planning, and early mitigation.
- Build and maintain a strong stakeholder network, enabling collaborative working, constructive challenge, and the embedding of risk management best practice.
- Support the development and delivery of risk awareness training, capability building, and communications to improve OHL organisational understanding and risk ownership.
- Support in any resilience planning and resilience exercises that look to test responses to risks and manage any following action plans
What You'll Have
- Appropriate HNC level qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in risk, compliance, assurance, or governance roles with demonstrable understanding of business risk concepts.
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk management, risk governance frameworks, and control design principles.
- Ability to interpret complex information and translate it into clear, concise, and meaningful insights for decision‑makers.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities, navigating ambiguity, and working effectively in fast‑paced or challenging environments.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build trust and establish credibility at all organisational levels.
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- High personal integrity, resilience, and commitment to doing what’s right for the organisation.

What You'll Get
Up to £55,000 dependent on experience.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
