Associate OHL Specialist Techniques & Technology Engineer

As a Associate OHL Specialist Techniques & Technology Engineer, you'll support the development, testing, and deployment of new tools, practices, and solutions that improve operational performance and safety across the business.

This role is peripatetic, and we encourage a hybrid working approach, although we’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You’ll Do:
- Contribute to technical input relating to OHL specialist techniques, including the development of procedures and equipment, inspection methods, diagnostic tools, Live Working fundamentals, and condition assessment technologies
- Support the maintenance and improvement of OHL procedures, guidance notes, and documentation by drafting, reviewing, or updating materials under supervision
- Assist with assessments or trials of emerging OHL tools, techniques, and technologies that may enhance safety, digital capability, or asset insight.
- Provide first-line technical support to field teams and internal stakeholders regarding specialist techniques and technologies, escalating more complex issues to senior engineers.
- Contribute to the preparation of training materials, visual aids, and technical guides relating to specialist OHL techniques and technology use.
- Participate in structured compliance checks, audits, and assurance activities to support alignment with safety rules, standards, and risk mitigation practices.
What You’ll Have:
- Knowledge of Overhead Line (OHL) engineering, including exposure to specialist techniques, inspection methods, and technology-enabled condition assessment activities.
- Basic understanding of OHL standards, safety rules, engineering procedures, and asset management principles, with a willingness to develop deeper technical expertise.
- Experience supporting technical activities within a team environment, working alongside engineers, technicians, or operational colleagues.
- Exposure to specialist OHL tools, inspection equipment, diagnostic technologies, or emerging engineering solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and contribute to effective engineering decisions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to support the development, review, and maintenance of engineering guidance, procedures, and technical documentation.

What You'll Get:
£47,442 - £51,664 dependent on experience.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance, Job Requirement Car and competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
