Senior Technical Inspector, Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance

National Grid is hiring a Senior Technical Inspector for our Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance department in Patchogue, NY. This is a field-based position.

The Role
The Senior Technical Inspector will provide technical and compliance expertise from a field inspection perspective.
What You'll Do
- Conduct field operations work site inspections, including Maintenance and Construction field personnel inspections and record reviews to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
- Collect, sort, and analyze inspection data to identify deficiencies and overall patterns which may impact the quality and safety of operations, and provide recommendations to improve them
- Maintain and document all results in relevant databases
- Report findings and coordinate material disposition to internal and external stakeholders
About You
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering discipline or a related technical discipline, and 5+ years of gas utility experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent and 10+ years of gas utility experience required
- Strong interpersonal skills required
- Proven ability to develop, maintain and manage relationships at all levels
- Valid driver’s license required

Salary
$110,000 - $120,000 a year
Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
