The Opportunity

National Grid is hiring a Scheduler for our Resource Availability Management department in Northboro, MA. Currently a hybrid role based in Northboro, we cover areas ranging over the entire state of Massachusetts.

The Team and the Schedule

Our team, Resource Availability Management (RAM), is relied upon to manage resources and scheduling for multiple stakeholders within the gas sector.

 

The Schedule:

  • At this time, you’ll work in various office locations for a minimum of 3 days a week. Your work location will change depending on the areas you will be covering
  • This position will require rotational weekend coverage, not to exceed 12 assigned single days a year
  • Schedule will be Monday thru Friday
  • Hours will be 6:00AM to 2:00PM or 8:00AM to 4:00PM assigned upon coverage location
  • Holiday coverage will be required on a rotational basis for 1 holiday per year

What You'll Do

  • Adjust and maintain schedules to be used to provide work and respond to emergencies.
  • Track and maintain exception reporting for absences
  • Use Excel and other scheduling programs in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Run reports for stakeholders to ensure proper staffing levels and to submit accurate time coding for workers
  • Understand changes to regulatory and bargaining agreement rules and implement change to Resource Management practices as needed
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to drive consistency, share best practices, and do our part to plan the resources effectively to deliver on projects.

About You

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of scheduling, absence management, dispatch or gas operations experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Experience managing project teams or projects independently and as a group preferred
  • Proven customer service orientation and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and harmonious working between direct groups, parallel teams, and stakeholders required
  • Ability to use computer-based planning tools, work scheduling systems, and desktop software packages
  • Ability to travel locally 25% to meet with stakeholders
  • Valid driver’s license required

Salary

$77,000 - $85,000 a year
