Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

As an Associate Supervisor with our Dispatch team, you’ll help keep the public safe by coordinating National Grid’s response to Electric and Gas issues in our communities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our operations run smoothly, maintaining satisfaction from our customers, and staying compliant with all regulations. You’ll build strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners, creating positive interactions that lead to efficient work execution. Ready to make an impact? This is an onsite role based in Northboro, MA.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll have the chance to learn all about gas and electrical systems while being part of a team that values mentorship and development. Here’s what you’ll be up to:

 

  • Team Leader: Drive the performance of a diverse team, addressing issues like sickness, discipline, and work standards to keep everything running efficiently.
  • Work Planner: Manage, plan, and execute the monthly and annual emergency and non-emergency work plans.
  • Data Analyst: Dive into operational data to provide insights and recommendations that boost customer satisfaction, cut costs, and enhance effectiveness.
  • Team Motivator: Manage, motivate, train, and educate the Dispatching team during their daily operations.
  • Dispatcher Extraordinaire: Ensure same-day dispatching of all work while maintaining optimal productivity, customer satisfaction, and compliance with regulations.
  • Communication Hub: Act as the go-to person for communication between various departments, including Field Operations, Customer and Community, Regulatory, Pipeline Safety, and Engineering groups.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Energy Management, Operations Management, Communications, or a related field from an accredited institution    
  • Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026   
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 8, 2026, or July 13, 2026
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range

Northboro, MA $71,000 - $83,000 a year

 

 

You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Our hybrid working approach applies to all colleagues who have a role which has the flexibility to be done hybrid across the National Grid group. Operational requirements mean that not all roles are suitable for hybrid working. Managers are responsible for determining whether a role is conducive to hybrid working. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
