Join a dynamic team at the center of our communities and help strengthen meaningful connections with customers and municipalities. National Grid is seeking a Senior Community Engagement Coordinator to support the Baystate North region, based in North Andover, MA.
An ideal Community Engagement Coordinator brings strong organizational skills to support our annual outreach plan, sponsorship campaigns, and emergency storm response. In this role, you’ll be an excellent communicator and responsive spokesperson, helping to build and sustain trusted relationships with municipal and community leaders.
We’re looking for a self-motivated professional with strong writing skills, who enjoys engaging with others, solving problems of all sizes, and delivering effective outcomes for our customers. Key Accountabilities
• Evaluate corporate sponsorships and recommend investments aligned with NE business goals and community priorities. Champion local presence and social impact, leading initiatives that elevate our reputation and deepen community relationships. Own the strategy for regional programs—Week of Service, Earth Day, Customer Assistance events, annual ERP Meeting, and local volunteering—ensuring meaningful participation, measurable outcomes, and strong stakeholder partnerships. Publish monthly donation report to internal team utilizing Cybergrants.
• Manage database of critical contacts for police, fire, and municipal officials. Communicate updates to Central Dispatch, and distribute regulatory communications, as requested by our NE business partners.
• Develop trusted relationships in your assigned communities by engaging with local officials, resolving constituent concerns and supporting projects for National Grid’s NE business units – Gas and Electric Operations, Customer, Network Strategy, Distributed Generation, etc.
• Serve as a key contributor during emergency events, coordinating municipal notifications, storm role activations, and emergency planning reporting. Support Community Liaison and Municipal Room operations and ensure on-site presence when activated.
• Bring your data skills to elevate our understanding of customer segments, community profiles, and operational impacts. Helpful system knowledge: CSS, Maximo, Cybergrants, Everbridge, Excel, Power BI, Copilot AI.
• Provide special project support and backfill team roles, as needed.
• Promote, comply and engage in safe work practices while adhering to National Grid values, internally and externally.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience and/or bachelor’s degree in energy, communications/marketing, business, or a related field.
• Chief of Staff skills with the ability to plan and execute events, elevate constituent concerns, and manage team deliverables on strict timelines.
• Collaborative, energetic style with excellent organizational and communication skills including an enthusiastic attitude to Make It Happen.
• Demonstrated ability to challenge processes and use knowledge or trends to look at current situations. Make yourself available for our communities, especially during critical periods (e.g., business emergencies, seasonal storms.)
• Minimum of two days per week in office, and occasional after-hours participation at chamber or community events.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Salary
$100k - $117k a year
