Admin Assistant
The Admin Assistant at National Grid plays a crucial role in supporting the apprenticeship programmes. This position involves coordinating various aspects of the apprenticeship lifecycle from recruitment to completion, including pastoral support and ensuring a seamless learning experience. This role is essential to provide a supportive environment for apprentices/grads at National Grid, contributing to their professional development and overall success of the apprenticeship programme.
This is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work from the Eakring Training Centre at least 5 days a week during the recruitment period. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
- Support the Recruitment Team with AO apprentice/grad Assessment Centres.
- Providing support to new apprentices/grads from the time they accept their contacts/keeping warm process, including gathering data.
- Support the organisation and facilitation of inductions for new apprentice/grad intakes, ensuring all necessary resources and materials are prepared.
- Ordering Personal Protective Equipment, any vehicles that are required, IT and organise any other requirements including medicals.
- Using multiple programmes to gather and collate data to support with monthly data packs.
- Generating and analysing data to identify areas of improvement.
- Recording new data and keeping existing data up to date.
- Maintaining accurate data records and documentation related to the apprentices/grads and their progress.
- Assist the Apprentice Line Manager with any other administrative tasks related to the apprenticeship programme as required.
What You'll Have
- Strong Excel experience.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in supporting apprentices or graduates is preferred.
- Being able to follow processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and departments.
- Familiar with Microsoft packages, including excel, teams, outlook, PowerBI.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
- Be able to problem solve and think quickly to come up with solutions.
