Job Purpose

The New York Gas Complex Capital Construction Project Management Office (PMO) plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our capital projects. As a performance + reporting project manager, the candidate will perform data analytics in support of the PMO. The candidate will draft and review project deliverables and analyses such as value-stream mapping and statistical analysis. They will interact with senior leadership and subject matter experts to develop solutions that improve process performance by increasing efficiency and enhancing the customer experience. They will also serve as the reporting liaison for the governance, compliance, risk management, and financial positions within the PMO. 

The ideal candidate will have experience with data reporting for large construction projects and programs. In addition, interpersonal and leadership skills to help drive change with the new PMO but also create strong relationships with the project teams. This position requires an individual with excellent verbal/written communication skills and has the ability to deliver significant business results.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of project deliverables.
  • Develop and track project metrics in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance and improvement key metrics and report the results to the leadership team.
  • Build positive relationships and credibility with the functional process team to support process improvement.
  • Motivate functional process teams working on projects within a matrix reporting structure to engage through teamwork and a high level of participation.
  • Assess change readiness and act as a change agent/coach to instill and sustain changes among stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including communication, to develop successful and long-lasting business partnerships with company personnel at all levels.
  • Develop an understanding of the operational work being performed and associated processes
  • Develop internal and external content for leadership team presentations. Directly responsible for developing, delivering, and analyzing the organization’s performance scorecard
  • Provide training and mentorship on Lean process improvement analysis.
  • Drive high quality results. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in developing or implementing reporting dashboards on high-value programs / portfolios: >$200M
  • Proficient in Power BI, MS Power Automate, and MS Excel
  • Knowledge of DAX syntax/power query and P6
  • Knowledge of process improvement strategies with a focus on driving cost and complexity reduction
  • Experience in leading a cross functional team to deliver tangible business benefits.
  • working with and influencing key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Understanding of change management challenges related to process improvement.
  • Passionate about customer experience and helping the team to achieve its vision.
  • Ability to build, monitor, sustain stakeholder engagement and correct when necessary.
  • Ability to identify and manage project risks and issues that impact project progress.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate to employees across all levels of the organization.
