Job Purpose

 The New York Gas Complex Capital Construction (NYGCCC) Project Controls (PC) Team plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our capital projects. The Senior Planner role supports the delivery of capital projects by applying Project Controls principles across schedule management, financial management, and reporting. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules and cost data to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget, while providing data-driven insights to support project teams and decision-making.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules in Primavera P6 aligned with defined WBS, including performing routine updates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project inputs.
• Analyze and validate schedule performance by supporting critical path, float, and milestone analysis and reviewing contractor schedule submissions to confirm progress, logic, and compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with schedule change management activities, including baseline updates and impact assessments.
• Support integration of schedule and cost data to enable forecasting and earned value tracking.
• Analyze project financial data, including budgets, forecasts, and actuals, to identify variances and trends.
• Assist in evaluating the impact of scope changes and productivity variances on project performance.
• Support monthly forecasting processes by validating inputs and ensuring alignment with schedule data.
• Prepare routine reporting outputs, including KPIs, dashboards, and project performance summaries.
• Contribute to monthly reporting cycles by compiling schedule, cost, and performance data. Ensure consistency and quality of data used in reporting and analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inputs, communicate findings, and support the identification of risks, issues, and opportunities through analysis of schedule and financial data.
• Apply established Project Controls processes, tools, and standards to support portfolio execution. 

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project/Construction Management, or a related field, along with 3–5 years of experience in Project Controls Reporting/Scheduling/Analytics; or 6–10 years of relevant experience in Project Controls Reporting/Scheduling/Analytics.
• Demonstrated experience in Primavera P6 and strong knowledge of project controls principles, including schedule development, critical path and float analysis, earned value methodologies, and contractor schedule/claim evaluation, with the ability to apply standard techniques and resolve common scheduling and performance challenges.
• Experience in Microsoft Suite
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all organizational levels.
• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving history in accordance with National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule as per company requirements.

Upstate, NY (Syracuse) $97,000 - $114,000

Downstate, NY (Melville) $117,000 - $137,000 a year
