Principal Project Manager, Gas Capital Project Delivery

Job Purpose

To provide leadership and clear direction to project teams. Responsible for the delivery,management, and governance of assigned projects in accordance with the National Grid projectmanagement processes defined by scope, schedule and quality.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage gas distribution and transmission pipeline, regulator station and other relatedasset projects, including new facilities, major additions, replacements and retrofit projects.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects including:
  • Communications and team leadership.
  • Deliver approved scope, cost estimates, schedules and resource plans.
  • Control of project scope, cost, quality, and schedule parameters/riskmanagement.
  • Compliance with environmental, safety and National Grid standards andpolicies.
  • Adherence with all project permits.
  • Project closure activities.
  • Weekly and monthly project reporting.
  • Project forecasting.
  • Assuring project savings.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and efficient resource utilization boththroughout a network delivery organization.
  • Supporting groups within this organizationinclude Engineering, Operations, Asset Management, Environmental, ResourceCoordination, and others.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience with project management
  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or management discipline and/or significantrelevant engineering, environmental and construction experience in all aspects of utilityconstruction operations or 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certified Project Management Professional preferred.
  • Experience with successful delivery of complex projects and possess team leadershipskills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Experience with financial management.
  • A valid driver's license with a safe driving history is required.
