Job Purpose
The New York Gas Complex Capital Construction (NYGCCC) Project Management Office (PMO) plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our capital projects. The portfolio finance manager will play a key role in developing and executing strategic initiatives focused on systems, data, and process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have experience with financial reporting for large construction projects and programs. In addition, interpersonal and leadership skills to help drive change with the new PMO but also create strong relationships with the project teams. This position requires an individual with excellent verbal/written communication skills and has the ability to deliver significant business results.
Key Accountabilities
- Support and evolve monthly reporting and analytic capabilities across the NYGCCC portfolio including: capital portfolio, major capital projects, resource planning, project and portfolio contingency, estimating to actuals.
- Support the development and maintenance of centralized reporting platform for major capital projects.
- Provide analytics reporting and process development of a multitude of internal strategic improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between current and evolving processes and underlying reporting and system capabilities.
- Develop and evolve portfolio metrics in partnership with key stakeholders
- Motivate functional process teams working on projects within a matrix reporting structure to engage through teamwork and a high level of participation.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including communication, to develop successful and long-lasting business partnerships with company personnel at all levels.
- Develop an understanding of the operational work being performed and associated processes.
- Ensure organizational alignment with broader company goals/changes i.e. Digital products, data aggregation efforts, and work management tool implementations and evolutions.
- Assess change readiness and act as a change agent/coach to instill and sustain changes among stakeholders
- Drive high quality results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of related experience
- Proven experience in developing or implementing financial reporting on high-value programs / portfolios: >$200M
- Proficient in Power BI, MS Access, and MS Excel
- Robust knowledge of SAP, Powerplan, Primevera P6, STORMS, and Business Intelligence Reporting
- Working knowledge of Capital Planning and Execution processes.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate to employees across all levels of the organization.
