Job Purpose
To provide technical expertise and support from an engineering perspective to ensure safe and effective operation, maintenance, and enhancement of National Grid’s gas distribution network in accordance with the corporate strategic plan.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform engineering analysis to support the Leak Prone Pipe (LPP) replacement program, including risk evaluation, asset condition assessment, and development of project recommendations.
- Analyze leaks, asset, and material data to identify trends, support prioritization, and improve system integrity performance.
- Support development of annual and multi‑year workplans by preparing project inputs, reviewing field data, and validating scope assumptions.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and exhibits for internal stakeholders and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with Field Operations, Distribution Engineering, Resource Planning/Coordination, and Corrosion to gather information, resolve data gaps, and refine project scopes.
- Utilize internal enterprise systems (MEPS, Maximo, GIS platforms) to maintain project records, track progress, and ensure data accuracy.
- Participate in process reviews and contribute to improvements of engineering procedures, tools, and workflows.
- Perform engineering studies and investigations under guidance, recommending corrective actions or mitigation strategies where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university required
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam with Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
- 0-2 years of engineering or project management experience
- Valid driver's license required

Downstate NY Salary: $104,000 - $122,000 a year
