Supervisor, Customer Meter Services

National Grid is hiring a Supervisor, Customer Meter Services for our NE North Gas Operations Customer Meter Services department in Malden, MA.

The Team
We are responsible for the daily supervision and organization of assigned operations personnel in order to effectively accomplish job tasks in line with departmental and National Grid requirements. This may include oversight and/or collaboration with Construction Personnel, Field Operations Personnel, External Contractors, Gas Emergency First Responders, Service Persons, Mark-out Personnel, and other company or contractor employees on National Grid job sites, in a cost-effective manner.
What You'll Do
- Ensure the safety, reliability, security, and integrity of our gas customers’ premises, work sites, and the Company’s distribution system
- Implement and maintain compliance with policies and procedures that ensure public safety, maximize customer satisfaction, and fulfill statutory requirements while meeting or exceeding performance incentives
- Protect the safety of the public, company property and personnel through monitoring and enforcement of work rules, standards and procedures for emergency response, leak investigation, and other scheduled work, while remaining fully compliant and within budgetary limitations
- Respond to gas emergencies and coordinate with other Company emergency response personnel, Emergency Response Agencies, Regulators and the Police and Fire Departments
- Support achievement of goals, including operational targets, mandated objectives, budget goals, emergency response and safety
- Supervise a culturally diverse workforce, through coaching, counseling, and team building to effectively and efficiently accomplish job tasks
- Participate in on-call or after-hour supervisory duties
About You
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of construction, utility or union supervisory work experience to include either supervision of others, SME experience OR Project Lead experience preferred
- Prior leadership experience with a focus on Construction, Field Operations, or Customer Meter Services preferred
- Exceptional safety record, strong oral and written communication skills and the proven ability to maximize performance of subordinates required
- Valid driver's license required

Salary
$109,000 - $128,000 a year
Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
