Supervisor, Leak Survey

National Grid is hiring a Supervisor for our Distribution and Transmission team. This role is based 40% in the field and 60% in our office in Lowell.

The Role
The Supervisor is responsible for the safety and security of the gas distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel to complete job tasks while complying with company and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the operational workload and monitor the performance of team members to ensure that all work tasks comply with Company, Federal and State policies and to ensure a safe working environment to minimize risk for all staff
- Supervise a contractor workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner
- Build good working relationships with internal & external customers and manage the day-to-day relationship with them to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions within National Grid policies and processes
- Monitor performance of allocated staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline, and poor standards of work to ensure work is performed efficiently and effectively
- Promote and implement best practices to ensure all work tasks achieve high productivity and low costs
About You
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience managing a workforce required
- Technical proficiency with gas or leak survey field operations preferred
- Demonstrated experience building effective & respectful working relationships required
- Ability to perform off-hour coverage required
- Flexibility in yard coverage required
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Word preferred
- Valid driver’s license required

Salary
$110,000 - $120,000 a year
