We are seeking a passionate Lead Treasury Accountant to enhance our Treasury Financial Reporting team. In this vital role, you will report directly to the Treasury Financial Reporting Manager and collaborate with all members of the Treasury Finance team. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate data capture and accounting within our transaction system (Quantum) and reporting ledgers (SAP and BPC). This position offers significant opportunities for independent work, allowing you to develop essential technical accounting skills while gaining valuable insights into Treasury execution and operations.

 

As part of the Treasury Finance team, you will be responsible for delivering complete and accurate financial and management reporting for our Group Treasury activities across the UK and US. You will manage a substantial £45bn financing portfolio, including numerous hedging derivatives and reported financing costs of approximately £1.8bn. Additionally, you will provide vital business partnering support to various Treasury functions, including debt capital markets, money markets, corporate finance, and operational banking teams.

 

This role is based in our Strand office, where we encourage you to be present three days a week. However, we welcome you to spend more time in the office if that suits you better. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements to ensure this role aligns with your needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage monthly analyses and proofs for treasury business, validating financial numbers and ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, including interest analysis and foreign currency hedging.
  • Analyse and coordinate consolidated IFRS reporting for the Group Annual Report and Accounts, including treasury and financial risk disclosures, and report UK GAAP and US GAAP for subsidiaries.
  • Deliver quality forecasts during quarterly reforecasting, engaging with the front office and analysing volume rates.
  • Oversee analysis and verification of treasury information for UK regulatory returns (OFGEM).
  • Participate in treasury management system (TMS) enhancements to improve processes and meet stakeholder demands, assisting with ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and exceed expectations, becoming a trusted information source and providing innovative solutions to challenges.

What You’ll Have:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Good technical accounting under IFRS and UK GAAP and awareness of Treasury related accounting standards IFRS 9, FRS 101 and 102 and IFRS 7.
  • Awareness of treasury financial instruments together with relevant accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated and commitment to professional delivery
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Experience of relevant systems Quantum (TMS), S4H or BPC is preferred but not essential.

What You'll Get:

Up to £77,000 dependent on experience.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance with an on target of 15% (maximum 30%) and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
