Lead EPC Project Manager

We have a portfolio of large-scale construction projects within the Infrastructure Delivery (ID) team. These projects range from development to delivery stages.
The projects present an ideal opportunity to give something back to society in delivering our net zero ambition and engage with OFGEM to gain regulatory approval.
We are looking for experienced and ambitious Lead EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) Project Managers to join our team, specifically to cover the London and Essex regions.
These roles require a hybrid working approach with a mix of home, site and office working. Projects are based in London and Essex and once projects are underway, it is anticipated you’ll be on site for a minimum of 2-3 days per week.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Lead the investment process during pre-construction, delivery and closure for complex projects ensuring governance is maintained throughout.
- Evaluate multiple project drivers.
- Develop, support, sanction, and deliver the optimal solution and best value to the consumer.
- Obtain regulatory approval for your project.
- Ensure internal and contractor compliance with Health & Safety, CDM & Environmental legislation as well as adherence to National Grid SHES standards.
- Enact/Support the role of Client's Delegated Representative and where appropriate, Principal Designer or arrange for the provision of Principle Designer for each project as required under CDM Regulations.
- Assess the need for and Monitor Front End Engineering Design (FEED) support; and control their activities.
- Provide regular project status reports - financial forecasting, SHEQ performance, milestone progress & risk management data.
About You
You’ll be a tenacious, accomplished project manager with experience of delivering complex high value projects, ideally within a construction environment. An electrical understanding or experience of a High Voltage environment would be advantageous. You’ll also have experience of managing risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
With a proficient technical knowledge of the Electricity Transmission system, you’ll have strong influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. You’ll have the ability to support and mentor the wider team, developing capability and resilience.
Commercial and Contract Management experience (NEC) is essential, as is a full driving licence.
