Job Purpose

The Senior Analyst provides technical and operational direction for National Grid's gas meter and corrosion asset management systems. Provides leadership to ensure regulatory, productivity standards, as well as field operation tools and regulatory requirements for New York are met. Continuous improvement and new ways of operating are an integral part of the operating culture at National Grid.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate with IT department and meter application vendors to ensure program fixes are tested before deployed.
  • Troubleshooting issues with National Grid Gas metering and corrosion applications.
  • Works with leadership, Gas operations to develop long range plan and reviews this plan with operations and planning to ensure complete and proper prioritization for short term and long-term scheduling.
  • Ensure timely filing of Gas Meter Lab related New York State Public Service Commission regulated requirements.
  • Timely fulfillment of all meter and equipment data requests.
  • Establish and sustain tracking mechanisms to manage operational performance in the Gas meter lab.
  • Support any internal and external auditing.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives.
  • Understand, update, and implement standard working processes for tasks throughout the lab.
  • Provide technical expertise to organizational Contract Management efforts (team manages gas meter supplier network).
  • Ensure continued administration and management of company Meter Information.
  • Tracking System Utilize Meter Inventory Tracking System and the interface with related applications to ensure proper customer billing.
  • Create dashboards to track real-time performance associated with multiple data sources including compliance, customer and asset management systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information science or computer science from an ABET Accredited institution required. 
  • Experience with computer programming is required.
  • Experience with problem-solving/diagnostics required. 
  • Experience with SQL and access a plus Experience with physical inventory process required.
  • Experience with loading and supporting vendor software on workstations.
  • A solid understanding of Utility industry preferably in gas operations Knowledge of inventory management practices.
  • Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of the legal/regulatory/corporate governance requirements, strategy and objectives of issues impacting the utility industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop effective business relationships and partnerships with others and seeks to understand and challenge plans and opportunities to the benefit of all parties.
