At National Grid, we don’t just keep the lights on — we power possibilities. We’re looking for an organised and proactive Administrator to support our South West Substation teams, working closely with the Head of Substations and colleagues across Planning, Projects, Compliance & Safety.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our operations and working closely with the Leadership team managing the team SharePoint site, databases and spreadsheets with Excel, preparing clear and engaging presentations in PowerPoint, and using Power BI to turn data into meaningful insights. You’ll organise meetings, from agendas to minutes, and follow up on actions, ensuring everything runs smoothly this including meeting and greeting visitors, coordinating travel and accommodation and handle daily deliveries.
In addition, you’ll lead on agreed zonal initiatives and provide technical administrative support for a working group i.e. Health and Wellbeing. Produce and distribute internal and external reports and business/development plans, and hold a company purchasing card for zonal expenditure, reviewing zonal use. While based at Iron Action substation, Latteridge near Bristol, you’ll occasionally travel to sites across the Southwest of England and South Wales.
Requirements:
We’re after someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys helping a team succeed. If you are:
- Skilled in Managing and Maintaining a SharePoint site
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), and with Power BI.
- A confident communicator — both written and verbal — with a friendly, professional approach.
- A quick learner, exceptionally organised, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to juggle priorities.
- Able to work flexibly and meet deadlines without losing your sense of humour.
- Holder of a full UK driving licence.
Pay and Benefits
- £33,323 to £35283 pa + Bonus + Contribution Pension Max total up to 18%.
- 37 Hours per week Monday to Friday
- 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
