Key Accountabilities

DUTIES:

 

 

Perform the highest level of diagnostic, maintenance, repair, and installation work on plant instrumentation, automatic control equipment, telemetric measurement systems, SCADA, DCS, BOP, and related control systems. Cryogenic liquid equipment, pneumatic equipment, AC/DC equipment up to 4KV, pressure relief valves. Work from high heights, vaults and manholes.

 

Work independently with minimal supervision, effectively communicating diagnostic findings, system conditions, inventories, and recommended corrective actions to the Supervisor.

 

Utilize MAXIMO, OT PAWS, Beamex, CMX and programs, technology needed to continue plants safe and reliability operation.

 

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all plant processes and cycles to diagnose instrumentation and control system issues and implement corrective actions without jeopardizing plant operations.

 

Adjusting, repairing, calibrating and installing all types of gas system instruments including solid state electronic circuitry.

 

Provide instruction, guidance, and on-the-job training to other Instrumentation Section personnel, as assigned.

 

Assist in the construction and installation of specialized instrumentation and control systems by interpreting electrical schematics, control logic diagrams, sketches, and related documentation.

 

Perform maintenance, repair, and related duties as assigned to support safe and reliable plant operations.

 

Use of basic tools and digital/analog diagnostic equipment including but not limited to multi meters, meggers, HART tool.

Qualifications

APPLICANTS WHO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Applicants must possess an Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical Technology, or Electrical Engineering in order to be considered for the position.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

More than three and one-half years of electrical experience and general working knowledge of electrical circuits and equipment

 

Valid Driver’s License required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy

 

Pass Field Assessment Test

 

 

NOTE:

 

Requires passing written aptitude exam and hands on Plate exam administered by L&D.

 

Applicants will be required to demonstrate ability to ascend and descend the tank stairs as this is required as part of their daily tasks.

 

Progression is based on satisfactory job performance and successful completion of specific educational courses.

 

In addition to possessing the qualifications for this vacancy, employees selected will be expected to work overtime in accordance with departmental requirements.

 

Employees selected for this classification will be required to participate in federally mandated drug testing programs prior to selection, randomly on a year-round basis, after an accident and for reasonable cause.

 

Employees must maintain all LNG qualifications, Physicals and Fire School requirements.

Pay Rate: $ 38.75 an hour
