What You'll Do
Our Treasury Systems team provides essential support to the global Treasury team at National Grid through the management and optimization of the Allegro Horizon and Quantum Treasury Management systems - both critical to support the Commodities and Treasury functions in the US and UK. This team drives multiple enhancement and automation projects from design to implementation by coordinating and communicating with stakeholders and supporting internal teams, as well as external vendors. In addition, the team also manages system infrastructure via Microsoft Azure and performs SOX controls activities.
As an intern, you will help modernize important legacy applications using C# and contribute fresh ideas for optimization. You will also support key projects to upgrade energy risk systems and identify opportunities for automation using AI. During your time with us, you will assist with routine maintenance, including issue monitoring and tracking, while working on custom applications to enhance their performance. Lastly, you'll be supporting full system upgrades and help the team identify and implement efficient optimization strategies.
You will be in our Hicksville, NY office and must be within commutable distance of this identified work location. As an Intern, you will work a maximum of 20 hours per week while school is in session, with the possibility of more hours during winter and summer breaks. This position requires that you commit a minimum of 1 year to this internship experience.
What You'll Need
- Availability to start on or about Monday, August 10, 2026.
- Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time through the Fall 2027 semester
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or related major.
- Accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
- Possess work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT)
- Proficiency in C#, Python, SQL, Azure or other Cloud technology
- Knowledge of Power Automate, Energy Trading, Database/ Risk Management Systems is a plus

Salary Range
$21.00 - $33.00 an hour
Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year. Our Intern Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for Interns; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements.
Please note that as a Intern, you must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
