National Grid is hiring a Senior Engineer (Asset Management and Investments), Power Plant Engineering. This role will sit on our Hicksville, NY. 

Job Purpose

  • Provide oversight and support of the Generation Asset Management Programs
  • Manage the Capital investment process to satisfy the LIPA Power Supply Agreement (PSA), Purchased Power Agreement (PPA) and to meet Line Of Business Strategic Plan
  • Standardize the CAPEX financial and risk scoring process, ensure consistent implementation and analysis
  • Assemble the capital budget based on governing guidance
  • Provide engineering and project management support to Generation Operations

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop capital project documents for work scope, purpose, necessity, cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment and financial sanctioning in collaboration with the project engineer.
  • Evaluate capital project progress against schedule and budget targets and communicate same to key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Power Engineering Sections, Maintenance Services Dept., Plant Process Improvement, and Generation Operations in the review and mitigation of risks and the prioritization Capital projects
  • Develop and coordinate the strategy, processes and policies governing the replacements/maintenance/addition/upgrades of Generation assets, in close cooperation with Generation Operations, PSEG-LI and LIPA
  • Provide technical and project management support on capital projects
  • Develop, implement and evaluate processes, plans, practices and procedures for the Generation Asset Management Program
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to assess effectiveness of asset management program to implement improvements
  • Ensure standardization in asset management information and reporting
  • Develop and monitor asset lifecycle monitoring methodology and apply to the investment management decisions
  • Optimize CAPEX programs in support of the Strategic Business Plans of Generation Operations and National Grid
  • Integrate Process Safety concepts into engineering and project processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5 years + power generation engineering, project management or related Experience Dimensions
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Analysts, Managers and Directors in Generation Operations and Generation support organizations
  • Interface with PSEG-LI and LIPA representatives on contract and projects Compliance
  • Knowledge of power generation equipment and operation
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication skills
  • Creative, Innovative, Adaptable and Flexible
  • Project management, asset management, planning, scheduling and reporting skills
  • Ability to perform technical and economic analysis of potential solutions
  • Familiarity and experience with project accounting process
  • Familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines
  • Ability to develop processes and practices to meet goals and objectives

Salary

$136,000 - $160,000 a year
