OT Security Engineer

At National Grid Interconnectors, you'll play a vital role in protecting and maintaining the operational technology (OT) systems that keep our critical infrastructure running safely, securely and reliably.
As an Operational Technology Security Engineer, you'll work hands-on with OT systems, networks and cyber security controls across our interconnector assets. From maintaining and troubleshooting critical systems to supporting cyber resilience, incident response and asset lifecycle management, you'll help ensure our operations remain secure and available 24/7.
The role is based on site at our site in Fareham, so you must live a commutable distance from site with a full UK driving licence to be considered for this role.
What you'll do
- Support the operation, maintenance and security of OT systems, networks and infrastructure.
- Manage system updates, patching, backups, recovery activities and asset lifecycle processes.
- Assist with fault investigations, incident response and vulnerability remediation.
- Work closely with operations teams, engineers, suppliers and cyber specialists to deliver secure solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation and supporting compliance across critical systems.
What you'll need
- Experience with Operational Technology, SCADA, industrial control systems, networks or similar environments.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including switches, firewalls and troubleshooting.
- An understanding of OT cyber security principles, including access management, patching and incident response.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in safety and security-critical environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with technical and operational stakeholders.

What you'll get
A competitive salary between £47,442 - £56,173 per annum– dependent on capability.
