National Grid is hiring a Compliance Manager to support our National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) business. This is a hybrid role with in-office work at least two days a week. Locations can be Warwick, Bristol or Castle Donnington.

We are excited to offer a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Compliance Manager to join our team! In this role, you will support the National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) business in maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory obligations while fostering a strong ethical culture. Collaborating closely with the Head of Compliance and the Risk and Controls team, you will assist in managing essential compliance processes, ensuring that data is captured, verified, monitored, and reported accurately and promptly.

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll help keep the energy flowing safely, responsibly, and sustainably by supporting the design, delivery, and testing of compliance, ethics, and assurance frameworks across NGED. You’ll bring complex information to life—analyzing data, producing clear and compelling reports, and delivering confident presentations that support informed decision‑making. Working in close partnership with the Head of Compliance and teams across the business, you’ll build trusted relationships, provide practical and credible advice, and help embed a strong culture of compliance and accountability. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced environment, using your Excel and PowerPoint expertise to deliver high‑quality outputs, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines. From time to time, you’ll also travel across our NGED footprint to collaborate with stakeholders and make a real, visible impact where it matters most.

 

 

About you

•    You’ll have knowledge or experience of Compliance, Risk, Ethics or Assurance Frameworks, and be ambitious for success, with a strong sense of initiative, a positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn.  
•    Thorough knowledge of control design and testing 
•    Ability to grasp complex issues and effectively integrate, compile, and analyze information and data

    • Implement a compliance communication strategy to enhance organizational awareness.
    • Maintain the Compliance risk Register and Action tracker, ensuring robust mitigations.

•    Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required
•    You will have great interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well, be organised with the ability to prioritise and be flexible, whilst working to tight deadlines. 
•    The role requires report writing for senior levels within the business and therefore you should have experience with great presentation delivery.
•    Manage stakeholder relationships by providing trusted advice to the business and build relationships with other areas of the business. 
•    The role may require travel from time to time to areas within the NGED business (East/West Midlands, South West and Wales)

A competitive salary between £62k - £75k per annum– dependent on capability.
