National Grid is hiring a Senior Data Analyst US Data Management. This hybrid role sits in Brooklyn, NY location. 

Job Purpose

The Senior Data Analyst US Data Management is responsible for ensuring the accurate creation of US Finance Master Data in line with governance policy. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including finance, project and business teams, to ensure adherence to governance. Drive continuous improvement in master data management processes and tooling.  Work with data owners to define and implement data management initiatives. As well as support and manage Global master data and data governance initiatives and project work.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the Stewardship of ALL changes to Finance master data in SAP made through the workflow management tool (MDG) in line with Governance Policy and SLAs
  • Act as the MDG subject matter expert for Finance Master Data
  • Ensure governance processes are in place to align data and drive quality, facilitate and manage the data Governance Forum and ensure IA are completed and reviewed, ensuring decisions are made and action plans put in place.
  • Communicate and educate business owners, requestors, stewards on data best practices.
  • Collaborate with the businesses to ensure master data processes are aligned to operational processes.
  • Manage infrequent updates of certain master data with cross functional teams/global teams.
  • Support Groupwide/Global master data and data governance initiatives.
  • Engagement with our customers to ensure we offer the best service possible.
  • Review, amend and create data artefacts e.g., Business Glossary, Data Dictionary.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and implement data model changes
  • Drive business value through the development of data documentation
  • Develop strategies for effective master data management and lead the implementation of best practice processes
  • Design and lead data quality improvement initiatives
  • Establish and embed controls to mitigate data compliance risks
  • Collaborate with data owners to administer data governance
  • Establish and operate data governance forums
  • Evaluate and improve data stewardship effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Expert in MDG process and technical S/4HANA SAP system, specifically related to Finance master data creation and maintenance.
  • Experience in MDG Customer and Vendor Business Partner system and data.
  • Experience in controls walkthrough with auditors.
  • Highly computer literate – advanced excel, ability to analyse data.
  • Strong character – be able to reject/challenge requests which are not in line with requirements.
  • Strong Team Player - works closely with other team members globally plus the wider business to ensure master data is accurate.
  • Ambitious - wants to develop a career in data governance and master data management.
  • Influencing skills - able to influence the business to follow processes and see the value in data stored properly.
  • Attention to detail –ability to concentrate on a process and follow it to the letter ensuring master data is changed in line with policy and procedure.

Salary

$88,000 - $104,000 a year
