Parts Person Transportation
Job Purpose
Experience the personal challenge of working for a world class organization and leader in the utilities and energy industry as a Parts Person in our Fleet Services Department in Brooklyn, New York.
Key Accountabilities
- Our Fleet Department has openings for experienced automotive and/or equipment parts specialist with a strong knowledge of the following automotive/truck/equipment parts functions:
- Order all vehicle replacement parts, tires, materials and supplies as needed, in a timely fashion supporting fleet needs.
- Utilize approved company vendors and suppliers.
- Manage credits for cores and returned items.
- Maintain parts rooms in neat and orderly fashion at all times.
- Properly store stock, rotate stock in expeditious manner, obtain credits and delete obsolete inventory.
- Pull unused parts from the shelf and return them.
- Look at non-consigned parts on the shelf that need to be replenished and replenish them.
- Complete all paperwork / automated processing necessary supporting parts process.
- Inform Management of consumables that need to be added to consignment.
- Perform required work order delay coding for vehicles awaiting parts.
- Liaison for fleet with parts suppliers.
- Assist with information research.
- Processing critical orders as needed.
- Monitor daily the OOS report in our ERP system (SAP) to increase vehicle availability and provide a follow up email to the Fleet Supervisors on the action being taken to return the vehicles back to service (i.e. ensure the work orders are properly coded, follow up with Lead Techs and provide an update when parts are expected to arrive, contact vendor every day to see when parts are expected to arrive).
- Input required data in the ERP system (SAP)
- Timely follow-up of special orders and all parts orders
- Maintain and monitor parts inventory including performing monthly cycle count in comprehensive, accurate manner as required.
- Expeditious transfer of parts between locations as needed.
- Confirm, reconcile, and pay invoices in a timely manner.
- Follow through with P-card reconciliations in a timely manner when P-card is used.
- Monitor funding amounts for Limited PO vendors and inform management when funds are low.
- Create shopping Carts.
- Proper input of parts data into our ERP system so that parts can be charged out
- Enter vendor name, price of part (or estimated price for repair), and expected date and any other data entries required.
- Assist Fleet Management personnel as needed.
- Shall be consistently capable of independently analyzing and safely resolving problems related to fleet parts identification, acquisition and inventory management.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a high school degree or GED.
- Minimum of five years experience in automotive, truck and equipment parts identification, acquisition and shop inventory management including a working knowledge of Automotive, Truck and Equipment operating (mechanical, electrical, etc.) systems.
- Must possess computer skills relating to fleet parts management systems.
- Candidates must have a valid drivers license.
- Ability to satisfactorily perform record keeping, electronic or hand written related to fleet maintenance.
- Must be physically capable of working areas above, below, in and around vehicles and safely.
- D.O.T. drug testing is a requirement of this position
- Must be reliable, neat in appearance, exhibit pride in workmanship, physically fit, willing and able to work extra/irregular hours including shifts, special assignment, and storm conditions while being alert and observing hazards and avoid accidents.
- Shall have demonstrated the ability and desire to learn and thoroughly understand new system operating methods presented to the department as technology evolves.

Pay Rate: $46.05 per hour
