Job Purpose

 

The Wellbeing Manager designs, implements, and evaluates comprehensive programs that support the five pillars of employee wellbeing:  physical & mental, social, community, career and financial health. This role partners across the organization to build a culture of wellbeing, enhance employee engagement, and improve overall organizational performance.

 

The Wellbeing Manager leads a multidisciplinary team—including athletic trainers and a mental health specialist—using data-driven, evidence-based practices to support industrial athletes, reduce injuries, strengthen early intervention, and meet the diverse needs of employees across New York State.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Provide direction, coaching, and performance support to a team of athletic trainers and a mental health specialist.
  • Develop and execute the wellbeing strategy for the New York jurisdiction including setting annual KPIs and objectives.
  • Plan and manage wellbeing programs, including events, campaigns, health challenges, and educational workshops.
  • Oversee and expand mental health initiatives to ensure accessible, stigma-free resources.
  • Manage relationships with external wellbeing vendors, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective services.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and demonstrate measurable impact.

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with preferred area of study in Occupational Therapy. Grandfathered bachelor degree acceptable.
  • Current professional allied health degree. Preferred: Occupational Therapist License (OTR/L).
  • Knowledge of public health, industrial/occupational health, and ergonomics.
  • 6+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required, preferably occupational or industrial health.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience managing people or leading teams.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and measure program impact.
  • Experience developing inclusive and accessible wellbeing initiatives.
  • Confident public speaker with strong training and facilitation skill.
  • Experience with wellbeing technology platforms and wellness vendors.
  • Self‑starter with strong work ethic and the ability to succeed in a hybrid work environment.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and digital tools including Microsoft Office programs, Power app.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout New York State.

Salary:

Upstate NY: $125,000.00 - $146,000.00 USD

Brooklyn: $150,000.00 - $176,000.00 USD
