This role operates under a hybrid working model and is open to candidates based in either our Waltham, MA or Brooklyn, NY office locations. Hybrid work expectations are subject to business needs and company policy.
Job Purpose
The Digital Product Manager is responsible for defining, owning, and delivering digital, data, and AI enabled products and platforms that support Generation (GenCo) and Competitive Transmission businesses within National Grid Ventures.
The role ensures that digital products deliver measurable commercial, operational, and regulatory value by translating business strategy into clear product and platform roadmaps, and by partnering closely with business leaders, engineering, data, AI, security, and architecture teams across the full product lifecycle
Key Accountabilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and own product and platform vision, roadmaps, and success measures aligned to Generation and Competitive Transmission strategies
- Translate business objectives into prioritized, outcome‑focused product backlogs
- Ensure alignment with National Grid digital, data, AI, security, cloud, and architecture standards
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary product interface for Commercial, Asset Development, and Regulatory stakeholders
- Own problem statements, value hypotheses, and benefits realization for assigned products
- Balance business priorities, technology constraints, and regulatory considerations
Product Delivery & Lifecycle Management
- Lead products through the full lifecycle: discovery, MVP, scale, operate, and optimize
- Drive structured discovery to validate scope, feasibility, benefits, dependencies, and investment cases
- Partner with engineering, data, AI, and platform teams to deliver secure, high‑quality solutions
Value Realization & Performance
- Define and track product KPIs, adoption, and value realization metrics
- Continuously improve products by enhancing high‑value capabilities and retiring low‑value features
- Provide clear product‑level reporting to senior business and digital leadership
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure products comply with legal, regulatory, security, licensing, and responsible AI requirements
- Support governance forums, sanction papers, and investment approvals with clear business and technology trade‑offs
Operating Model & Capability Development
- Contribute to the evolution of NGV’s product‑led delivery and operating model
- Support knowledge sharing and capability development across digital and product communities
Qualifications
Required
- Significant experience in Digital Product Management, ideally in asset‑intensive or regulated environments
- Proven experience delivering data‑ and AI‑enabled products
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement at senior levels
- Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery models
Preferred
- Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial sectors
- Familiarity with cloud‑based platforms, enterprise data solutions, or AI technologies
- Experience supporting investment cases, discovery phases, or portfolio prioritization

Waltham: $142k - $166k a year
Brooklyn: $152k - $178k a year
