People Administrator,
About the role
At National Grid, we keep people at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented People Services Administrator to join our People & Culture team based in our Bristol office with hybrid working arrangements.
In this role, you'll provide essential administrative support across a range of HR processes, helping to deliver an excellent employee experience while ensuring our people data, systems and processes remain accurate and compliant. What you'll do
As a People Services Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the People Services team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the administration of employee lifecycle and onboarding activities.
- Maintaining accurate employee records across HR systems.
- Processing and auditing regular people-related reports.
- Supporting employee induction and onboarding activities.
- Managing employee benefits administration and responding to employee queries.
- Coordinating Long Service Awards and other employee recognition processes.
- Administering payments and processes including First Aid, Ramp Up and Social & Leisure Club schemes.
- Producing and maintaining process documentation, templates and guidance materials.
- Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring compliance across HR records.
- Managing employee requests such as employment references, mortgage references and ID card administration.
- Assisting with Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and absence management administration.
- Acting as a key liaison between People Services and internal functions including Finance and IT.
- Responding promptly and professionally to employee and stakeholder enquiries.
What you'll need
We're looking for someone who is proactive, customer-focused and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You'll have excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
You'll also bring:
- Previous administration experience, ideally within an HR or shared services environment.
- An education to degree level or CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with HR systems, such as ResourceLink or similar HRIS platforms.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and data management.
- The ability to analyse information, solve problems and identify process improvements.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A collaborative approach with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £26,000 - £29,000 per annum– dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
