National Grid is hiring a Lead project manager reporting directly to the Senior Construction Manager.
In this role you will play a key part of the Interconnector Construction Directorate where you will be responsible the Delivery of Capex projects relating to the Lifetime strategy of the IFA interconnector (IFA).
Your role will be to manage all aspects involved with the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality whilst hitting key milestones along the way
This an enormously varied role where you can use your skills to deliver and manage your projects.
This role is based at our Interconnectors site at Sellindge, Kent and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home.
Please note you must have a full UK Driving licence and be able to drive for this role.
What you'll do
- Lead refurbishment and replacement projects at the IFA interconnector to ensure reliability and availability is maintained for our consumers. This will include developing detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation. Aligning tasks and responsibilities and requirements, while monitoring and adjusting as necessary to meet business demands.
- Provide regular project status reports giving accurate financial forecasting, SHESQ performance, milestone progress & risk management data
- Lead/Support the investment process during pre-construction, delivery and closure for projects of varying complexity ensuring governance is maintained throughout.
- Look after your projects’ safety, health, environment, security and quality obligations, adhering to all relevant internal and external policies and regulations You will display a visible commitment to safety and set the tone of project safety, for example, by being visible and providing timely feedback on improvements. You will help foster an environment where everyone, regardless of seniority, feels able to share their concerns.
- Drive customer and stakeholder satisfaction through positive engagement working pro-actively to avoid issues.
- Lead commissioning strategy for IFA construction activities
What you'll need
- Experience of managing work and demonstration of successfully co-ordinating activities across a portfolio of projects.
- Advanced Project Management Skills.
- Accomplished knowledge and application of CDM, Safety and Environmental Regulations
- Knowledge of the Electricity Transmission System.
- Finance and cost control management experience on complex projects.
- Experience in contracting strategies and procurement seeing contracts through the end-to-end project life cycles
- Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
- Expert at engaging stakeholders and working collaboratively to remove blockers
- Experienced at developing teams and delivering high quality results
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £66,000.00 - £75,000.00 per annum – dependent on capability.
