Lead Program Manager - Emergency Management Liaison
About us
National Grid is hiring a Lead Program Manager to manage the collaboration and coordination of emergency preparedness, planning, and response activities with external Emergency Management stakeholders in across New York state. This is a hybrid role open to any of our New York office locations.
Job Purpose
Key Accountabilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with county, state, federal, tribal, and local emergency management partners.
- Lead coordination meetings and preparedness activities with external stakeholders.
- Represent National Grid in emergency planning meetings, drills, exercises, and industry events.
- Support emergency response operations during storms and other system emergencies.
- Help develop and improve emergency preparedness, resilience, and response programs.
- Maintain stakeholder communication plans and emergency management contact databases.
- Support regulatory compliance activities, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- A bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in utility operations, emergency preparedness, field operations, program management, or a related area.
- Knowledge of emergency response frameworks, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to travel throughout the service territory and support emergency response assignments when required.
- A valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
Preferred:
- FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) certifications.
- Utility storm response or electric operations experience.
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or New York State Professional Emergency Manager certification.
- Experience with emergency planning, resilience initiatives, and regulatory compliance programs.

Salary
$125,000 - $147,000 a year
National Grid will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future. You must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
