Operations Manager - Substations

Business Unit:  Electricity Transmission
Requisition Number:  9405

Lead the future of electricity transmission in West London

This is your opportunity to lead the teams keeping London’s high-voltage electricity network safe, resilient and ready for Net Zero. We’re looking for a confident, inspiring Operations Leader to take charge of substation operations across five key sites in the London West area.

As Operations Manager, you’ll lead 13 direct reports and a wider team of up to 20 FTE — creating the conditions for people to do their best work. Through clear direction, coaching and visible safety leadership, you’ll build a high-performing team culture where safety, accountability and development come first. You’ll be at the centre of a major asset replacement programme, helping modernise critical infrastructure and support the transition to a cleaner energy future. From multi-million-pound capital projects and preventative maintenance to fault response and 24/7 network resilience, your leadership will directly influence the reliability of electricity transmission across the region.

You’ll join a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, inclusion and career growth. With hybrid working built into how we operate, you’ll have the flexibility to balance time on site with home working, while staying close enough to West London to support operational needs when it matters most. If you’re a safety-first leader who wants to shape high-performing teams, deliver essential infrastructure and help power the UK’s energy future, this is a role where you can make a real impact.
