National Grid is hiring a Senior Specialist - Investment Recovery in Whitinsville, MA

This is an in office, 5 days a week position - Must live within a commutable distance to our Whitinsville, MA locations

Job Purpose

 

The Massachusetts Warehouse Management organization has an objective to expand Investment Recovery (IR) services to deliver more value to MA customers. Our IR team works with all functions at National Grid to process materials that are at end of life with the objective of maximizing value for our customers and disposing of materials in an environmentally responsible way. The Specialist role will be part of small team, working with IR Analysts, Warehouse Supervisors, and a wide variety of Operations personnel both gas and electric to maximize the value of excess or scrap material and other goods. The organization’s success will be, in part due to the consistent outreach and presence that Specialist will provide in MA, uncovering opportunities to process more goods. Key Accountabilities

 

  • Coordinate the sale/disposal of scrap and surplus materials/equipment across National Grid MA locations 
  • Administer the creation and execution and management of scrap and surplus material master service agreements (MSAs)
  • Administer existing scrap and surplus MSAs and competitive bidding process for the sale and/or disposal of materials. Hold vendors accountable for agreed upon scope of work and contract terms and conditions
  • Negotiate pricing for the sale of scrap and/or surplus and obsolete materials
  • Process inventory/asset disposal material transfers using SAP/ EPIQ software systems 
  • Responsible for working with Procurement to develop and implement future contract and tactical selling Strategies.
  • Responsible for marketing efforts internal to National Grid and business to business selling 
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement to expand National Grid’s Investment Recovery Program and Recycling opportunities to support the company’s sustainability initiatives. 
  • Travel to various yard/field locations across the service territory as needed for the inspection and/or showing of materials designated for sale or disposal.
  • Travel to vendors supporting Investment Recovery contracts as needed for audits and downstream compliance.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Business Management, Supply Chain or similar degree preferred
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Knowledge of the electric and gas utility business preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite preferred
  • Proficiency with SAP preferred
  • Must be a team player and able to work well with a variety of individuals within and outside the company
  • Knowledge of recycling outlets/environmental processes preferred
  • Project/Contract Management skills preferred

Salary
$88,000 - $104,000 a year 
Salary commensurate with location and experience
