National Grid is hiring a Principal Process Improvement Leader in Waltham, MA
This position can be located at any of our locations.
This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to our locations
Job Purpose
We're looking for a process improvement leader to drive transformation across our customer operations, with a strong focus on the Meter to Cash value stream.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead Improvement Projects: Manage and deliver cross-functional initiatives that improve the full Meter to Cash process.
- Drive Process Improvement: Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other tools to streamline operations across teams and regions.
- Stay Current: Monitor IT updates, compliance changes, and other developments to assess their impact on processes.
- Coach & Mentor: Support teams in adopting best practices and building long-term process improvement skills.
- Facilitate Collaboration: Lead effective discussions, manage conflict, and drive decisions with stakeholders and SMEs.
- Spot Opportunities: Identify and expand efficiency initiatives, even those not yet formally recognized.
- Promote Data Culture: Encourage use of tools like Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
- Support System Changes: Ensure end users are involved in designing and testing new systems and processes.
- Manage Change: Help teams adapt to new ways of working and evolving processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in an analytical field)
- PMP certification (preferred)
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Strong project/program management skills
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a utility setting
- Skilled in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Strong decision-making and time management
- Passion for improving customer experience

$123,000 - $145,000 a year - Upstate, NY
$148,000 - $174,000 a year - Downstate, NY
$139,000 - $163,000 a year - Massachusetts
Salary commensurate with location and experience
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
