We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Testing Engineering Manager for our IT Customer teamThis position can be located in Syracuse, NY, or Northborough, MA (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). What you'll do

 

  • Organize and lead the Testing team and testing activities for the CIS Transformation program.
  • Gather, prepare and document test scripts (both functional and non-functional) for all levels of testing, including but not limited to Unit, System Integration, Functional, End-to-End, Volume, Regression and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Develop the testing strategy and plan thorough requirements for User Acceptance Testing.
  • Identify potential solutions for the program and provide input to issues and/or risks.
  • Identify project interdependencies and communicate testing scope/issues and drive them to resolution.
  • Lead the testing team members and other program resources to identify, collect and deliver key project milestones.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior testing team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in testing methodologies and tools.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for process enhancement and implementing best practices in testing.
  • Prepare presentations for the Leadership team, including testing progress and achievements, challenges, risks, etc.
  • Demonstrate clear capability to document the current vs future process flows.
  • Work with Business clients, Integration partners and Government agencies to identify and provide testing solutions for gaps and abnormal work-flows.
  • Create business and functional testing specifications for large, complex system implementations.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for test automation to improve efficiency and coverage of testing activities.
  • Complete all support documentation on assigned projects, including creating and updating all user and technical procedures/manuals, business, traceability matrices, process flows, operational support documentation and archival of all related project documentation.
  • Define and monitor all implementation tasks such as scheduling and planning production releases, create reports on the performance of the migrated accounts/customers, and develop a plan for future migrations.

About you

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline; or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert level Project/Testing Management skills including ability to lead diverse group of individuals with strong technical and functional knowledge.
  • Experience in working in the Utility (Gas/Electric) domain within a project setting.
  • Functional knowledge of Meter to Cash life cycle (Meter, Billing, Service Orders, Finance, Retail Access, Interfaces) a plus.
  • Experience as a Testing Manager role.
  • Experience in business and functional requirements elicitation, translation and documentation.
  • Experience in leading and managing projects.
  • Experience in a Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environment.
  • Expert level understanding of business functional areas and management issues as well as the IT organizations systems and capabilities.
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use the appropriate modeling methodologies and toolsets, requirements management methodologies and toolsets, requirements visualization methods and toolsets, and artifact versioning tools.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, and familiarity with Agile testing practices for working in sprints.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate testing-related risks.
  • Knowledge of utilities industry regulatory requirements and applicable standards, ensuring compliance in testing processes for regulatory interfaces.
  • Experience managing performance testing and tools used for load and stress testing to ensure system reliability under various conditions (high volume) especially for API based interfaces.

Dowstate NY $155,000 - $182,000 a year

Massachusetts $145,000 - $170,000 a year

Upstate NY $128,000 - $151,000

Salary is commensurate with experience and location
